ARTIST STATEMENT

My work focuses on what is behind a creation. The least visible parts can become the most intriguing visual interest. I am researching it through the image of nature that is a response to my intimate experience.
The basis of my work is drawing, but the medium that showcases this is printmaking. I use matrixes to reprint and make new compositions. To achieve the final piece I am using different printmaking techniques and multiple kinds of paper with varying transparencies and densities and manipulate the surface through cuts, folds, and collage.
At the final step, my prints will become artist’s book object, as a small universe, a small separate world full of dialogue of elements that can be visible or hidden, in shadow or in light, depending on how it is viewed.
